Naked Necks

Naked Neck is a chicken with a unique look and unique characteristics. One of the novelties of DOMINANT CZ are Naked Neck chickens. Their typical feature is a featherless, oesophageal neck. The breed originated in Transylvania, Romania, and was bred to its present form at the beginning of the last century. The final programs include the option of having almost all of our known feather colours. This is the result of cross breeding the classic parenting Dominant programs with the original Naked Neck paternal lineage. Following the maternal line, it achieves very good productivity and, thanks to its more robust body constitution, they are also suitable for meat production. Naked Neck is very popular in countries of their origin. The bare neck is an important regulator of body temperature, thus hens cope well in high temperatures and are resistant to stress.
